I was just checking out fretwire at LMI and Stew Mac. I'm intrigued by the EVO gold wire and would like to try it out. However, I'm noticing that the tang width of the EVO wire is .020" and the saw I used to cut my fret slots has a kerf of .023". Is .003" enough to worry about? If I decide to go with the EVO wire, should I add glue to make the frets secure?

I'd ask LMI.

My last two were with LMI gold wire. I use a .023 slot also, and I didn't notice any difference in fit from their regular wire. I press my frets and put a dab of titebond in each slot.

Thanks Ron. I figured it would work since LMI's fret saw has a .023" kerf, but I wanted to ask first to see what people's experiences were.
